The objective of the Warren Grapes Agricultural Education Fund is to promote agricultural and silvicultural education and learning among the English-speaking farm and rural community of Quebec through the provision of bursaries.
The Fund was created in September 1998 in honour of the late Warren Grapes who served many years as QFA president and was an inspiration to all.
The fund provides bursaries to support individuals pursuing secondary and post-secondary studies in recognized agriculture or silviculture programs. The bursaries give money directly to recipients to cover costs related to the pursuit of their studies.

Warren Grapes was born in the 1940s on the Maple Crescent family farm near Sawyerville, Quebec, in the Eastern Townships.
He received his early education at Sawyerville High School and at that time became very involved with the local 4-H club as well as helping out with the farm work at home. He continued his education at Macdonald College in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, where he took the Diploma Course. He also had a great interest in forestry and woodlot management and did research for the Pulp and Paper Institute.
Warren returned to the Townships and the family farm in the early 1970s and proceeded to improve the genetics of the family’s Holstein herd.
Over time, Warren became very involved in the life of the community and region. He was a founding member of the Townshippers’ Association and served as its president. He was also a director and the president of the Compton County Agricultural Society and the provincial president for the Quebec Farmers’ Association for three years.
When he saw that there was an agricultural course at Champlain Regional College in Lennoxville, he made arrangements and became a teacher there for several years.
Warren promoted agricultural education and training at every opportunity as he devoted his efforts to developing the English-speaking farming and rural communities of Quebec.
Warren Grapes passed away in 1994 after a courageous battle with cancer.
The Warren Grapes Agricultural Education Fund was established in 1998 to honour Warren’s dedication to agricultural education in Quebec and to continue his legacy.
