Our History

The Quebec Farmers’ Association was founded on April 4, 1957, with a notice appearing in the Official Gazette No. 17 for the year 1957. (Professional Syndicate Act)

Its aim was “the study, defence and promotion of the economic, social and moral interests of its members.”

The first president of the board of directors was Keith Greig of Ormstown, Que.

The board of directors included secretary Leslie Young of Macdonald College in Ste. Anne de Bellevue, Que.; Cyril Dahms of Huntingdon, Que.; Robert Baker of Huntingdon, Que.; and Robert Spooner of Masson, Que.

The association’s headquarters were located on the campus of Macdonald College.
